We are working hard to provide media services to the community to help create a more informed, engaged and connected Deaf community. But this will not happen without your support. 

You can help TCDeaf.com by volunteering for us. This is an online volunteering opportunity, to be done primarily through our website. The work is ongoing, but occasional, up to 2-3 hours a week. Activities may include managing site submissions, community research, data entry, performing community outreach, fundraising and creation of ASL videos. Technical skills not required, just a willingness to help. 

Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) is strongly preferred.

Advisory Board Members are also desired.

Community Health Coordinator

Duties/Responsibilities

The Coordinator will have frequent meetings with Dr. Iantaffi and Ms. Kilian to prioritize and discuss research tasks. Broadly, the Coordinator will be responsible for 1) day-to-day implementation, management and coordination of all aspects of the study; 2) preparing and maintaining the study project schedule, ensuring that all aspects of the project, and reports are completed on time; 3) assisting with design, development, revision, quality control of an online needs assessment of DMSM ; 4) conduct online in-depth interviews with members of the target population and other key informants; 5) assist with translation of data collection tools and transcripts between American Sign Language and English; 6) ensuring that all aspects of the interviews and online survey use culturally sensitive and appropriate language; 7) assisting with analysis of the data using Nvivo 9.1 and STATA 12 software packages; 8) assisting with the preparation of reports, scientific publications, and presentations at national and international conferences, and liaisons with the IRB and the National Institute of Health; and 9) other duties as assigned.
