MRID Camp ASL 2013

Camp ASL is a silent weekend for Interpreting students, recent graduates, working and experienced Interpreters, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teachers, ASL Teachers, employees at the Deaf Schools, and any professional that works in the field of Sign Language and Deafness (Deaf and Hearing). It gives them an opportunity to immerse themselves into Deaf Culture for a full weekend. Camp ASL provides opportunities for participants to interact with Deaf people, attend workshops by Deaf presenters, earn CEUs/ASL hours, and increase signing comprehension and skills in an exclusively visual environment.

Workshop Description:  The participants will explore the ever-expanding array of learning technologies available out there and to discover the best practices for using technology into exchange student engagement and learning. If you have iPad, bring it! If not, just bring yourself.

The Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Lobby Day will be on March 6th, 2013

Lobby Day is a chance for everyday Minnesota citizens to stand up and advocate for the concerns of the Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing. It provides people like you a chance to participate in the legislative process and speak up about concerns close to them. Legislators cannot know the importance of these issues unless they ‘hear’ from you. Your stories and testimonies are what make a difference.

Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Lobby Day is not only an excellent advocacy opportunity, it is a chance to meet other citizen activists, to learn about the legislative issues that affect our needs and to unite as a community.

Registration is free, but is required in order for us to schedule accomodations and legislative meetings for you. Use the embedded form below, or our registration page.

2013 ADARA Conference Authors Session

The 2013 ADARA conference planning committee is pleased to announce a special "Authors Session" will be held on Wednesday evening, May 29, as a part of the opening Conference session.
The Authors session will allow authors of book(s) related to professionals working with Deaf, Deafened, and Hard of Hearing persons to have a table to promote and share their publications. The table will be available at no cost to the author. The tentative time for this session is 7:00 -8:30 pm on Wednesday May 29. The exact room location is not yet determined.
